Become an Assessment Center

Thank you for your interest in becoming a certified MSSC Assessment Center

This section of the site will give you more details about becoming a certified MSSC Assessment Center

Desirable sites:

  • Are one-stop career centers; community colleges; advanced technology centers; technical institutes; joint business-labor training centers, or company training facilities
  • Are experienced in giving certification and/or licensing exams
  • Have an established relationship with employers to train workers
  • Have relationships with local and/or state Workforce Investment Boards, one-stop centers, and/or local training programs with established relationships with WIA one-stops
  • Are able to conform to attached software and hardware requirements (see MSSC Assessment Proctor Guide below for details)

    Certification Process

Step 1: Complete Center Registration Form and Payment
The coordinator from each center must evaluate his or her center according to the criteria set forth in the MSSC registration form checklist. The coordinator must then sign the Assessment Center Registration Form and send it to the MSSC with the $1000 certification payment. The $1000 assessment center certification fee covers administrativecosts, training, and support for three (3) years. Once the MSSC receives the complete form and payment and ensures the center meets the criteria, the coordinator will receive a confirmation letter and invitation to attend MSSC training sessions.

Step 2: Attend Coordinator and Proctor Training
All MSSC training is provided via teleconference and internet by our MSSC-authorized assessment vendor, The Whitener Group. Attendance by the coordinator is required before a center can complete certification. Attendance by proctors is highly recommended, but not required for facility certification. Sessions are provided every month and last approximately two hours. Coordinators and proctors will be sent the MSSC Coordinator and Proctor guide for review prior to attending the session. A Certificate of Completion will be given by The Whitener Group to each individual after attending the session. A list of upcoming Coordinator and Proctor Training dates are listed below. Step 3: Complete Testing Agreement
Once the Coordinator and IT person completes MSSC training, the facility will receive a Testing Agreement from The Whitener Group. This agreement is good for three (3) years. The Coordinator must sign and return this form to The Whitener Group before ordering assessments. Upon receipt of your agreement, The Whitener Group will send the site’s log-in information, an MSSC Assessment Order Form and a final Certificate of Approval.

Step 4: Order Your Assessments
Once a site has earned the Certificate of Approval, assessments may be ordered at any time. (Please click here to see How to Order the MSSC Assessments.)

Certificate Delivery Policy:

Successful MSSC test takers, under normal circumstance, should expect to                 received their certificates within six weeks from their test date.  If they have                 not received their certificate within this time line they should call MSSC                     immediately.

Please check out Assessment Site Help for more resources to help you get started.

The MSSC Assessment Center Certification Process has been established in order to ensure the integrity of the assessments, the privacy of participants and consistency in testing environment and administration.
