CPT Instructor Training Schedule 2012
MSSC provides an intensive, three-day course to certify teachers and instructors on ways to teach MSSC CPT courses in different learning environments. An “Instructors Package” (a $1500 value) is provided to each individual enrolled in this three-day course.
This Instructor’s Package includes all materials needed by an instructor or teacher: Powerpoint presentations, facilitator notes, visuals, play maps, unit completion times, optional delivery methods, math problems and answers, and instructions on assisting students with the MSSC online course material. Instructor trainees will also be provided with 180 days of online access to the computer-based training material.
Please note that we require a minimum of four trainer registrations in order to hold a class. Based on this requirement, we will not officialy confirm or cancel a class until at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled class date.
If you have registered or are planning to register for a class, please do not make any unrefundable travel arrangements (i.e. flights) prior to receiving confirmation that the class will be held. Please contact Cornelius Kearns with any questions on this policy.
For attending the three-day trianing, instructors will earn a “Certificate of Completion” and will be listed as “authorized” instructors on the MSSC website. Instructors will be kept on this list as “authorized” to instruct in the module areas in which they pass an assessment.

Remote Training
MSSC will send a master trainer at no additional cost to a training class in your region provided you have at least 6 or more instructor trainees per class setting.
To confirm and ensure successful delivery of the MSSC Remote Instructor Training, complete the Training Site Agreement Form and submit it three weeks prior to training session. The appropriate Training Site personnel must email and fax a signed version of this form to the MSSC coordinator listed below. Upon receipt of the completed form the MSSC coordinator will sign and immediately return the form to the Training Site Contact Person or contact them directly to address any questions or concerns.
Training Site
- Contact Person – who is responsible for coordinating all onsite logistics
- Address for location of training – where training materials can be shipped and stored
- IT Contact Person – who can be onsite and/or work directly with Master Trainer to address IT set-up and any issues that may be encountered during training session
- List of local hotel and eatery establishments, which are convenient to Training Site and that can be distributed to session participants prior to training session
- Training Site Fees* – If applicable must be disclosed and agreed upon in advance of delivering training session. This may include refreshments, site facility fees, A/V Equipment, catering, etc.

*If Training Site is secluded and not conducive to individuals leaving for lunch break MSSC coordinator must be notified to facilitate catering. Catering arrangements must be disclosed, agreed upon and part of Training Site Fees.
**If not provided by facility must be covered in Training Site Fees or MSSC coordinator must be notified so they can facilitate supply.
Training Room Requirements
- Room Set-up – U-shape preferred for lecture and group participation – minimum capacity 10 individuals
- Emergency Procedures posted in room or information available to MSSC Master Trainer for dissemination
- Housekeeping (e.g. Restrooms, Vending Food / Drink)
- Flipcharts, Chalkboard with chalk or Whiteboards with markers*
- AV Equipment*: Computer, projector and screen with sound for presentations (includes any necessary extension cords, cables, screen, etc)
- Must have high speed internet access
- Minimum system specifications (see below)
- Building access for instructor preparation prior to class start time each day
- Student Supplies* – pencil or pen, highlighter, note paper
*If materials are not available at Training Site they must be covered in the Training Site Fees or MSSC coordinator must be notified so they can facilitate supply.
Computer Lab Requirements
- Each student must have access to a computer (Desktop or Laptop)
- Instructor has a presentation computer, projector, screen, and sound with Internet for demonstrations. Computer must have Microsoft Office PowerPoint program functional or ability for Master Trainer to connect their personal computer into onsite equipment.
- These are minimum System and Computer Requirements – more is always better.
Hardware Requirements
The hardware configuration of your computer is usually visible in the Control Panel “System” Menu under the General and Device Manager tabs.
- 1 GHz processor
- 512 MB RAM
- Windows XP
- Sound card (or onboard sound)
- Video card (or onboard video) capable of 800x600 resolution with 24-bit color
Larger display sizes can be used, but the multimedia content is fixed at 800x600. Many customers prefer to use the screen resolution of 1024x768, which allows good coverage of the screen by the multimedia, but also leaves the taskbar and desktop available behind the curriculum.

- Broadband Internet access (DSL/Cable/T1) capable of 384 kbps
* In order to view this courseware, you will need three pieces of software (plugins) installed on your computer. All are free and readily available on the Internet.

But if for some reason they don't install, there are buttons provided at the bottom of the website page that will link you to the appropriate software websites.
Prior to training the MSSC coordinator will work with the site administrator or appropriate personnel to check each computer for “System Requirements” and access speed.
