On December 13, 2011, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the U.S. division of the International Organization of Standardization (ISO), accredited MSSC under ISO Standard 17024 (personnel certification). MSSC is the first national certification body accredited under this international standard for manufacturing and logistics.
This accreditation recognizes MSSC’s commitment to continuous improvement and long-standing leadership in the field of industry-recognized credentials. It establishes MSSC as the gold standard of certification and provides added value for employers, educators, workers and students.
- Employers can deploy our certifications globally to ensure common practice among their plants. The certifications can also be used with all suppliers to ensure the quality of their workforces and seamlessness of workforce training practices.
- Educators can use MSSC national standards as the benchmark for identifying industry skills.
- Workers and Students can document their skills and knowledge with a nationally portable, industry-recognized credential bearing the ANSI/ISO accreditation mark.
We express our thanks to the members of our growing infrastructure and to the many leaders in industry, education, government and labor for their assistance in helping MSSC to credential the higher skills of a growing population of workers and students.
Much work remains to be done to enable MSSC to credential the bulk of the front-line industrial workforce. The recent addition of ANSI accreditation under ISO Standard 17024 is a major boost to MSSC's ability to serve the closely-linked manufacturing and logistics economies.
