The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (“MSSC”), is committed to keeping any and all personal information collected of those individuals that visit MSSC’s websites and make use of MSSC’s online services (“You”) accurate, confidential, secure and private. This privacy policy (“Policy”) has been established to inform You about how Your personal identifiable information (“Personal Information”) is being used. This Policy applies to all services, products, websites and modules (collectively, “Services”) offered by MSSC.

MSSC collects certain Personal Information when You visit its websites and register and use its Services. The type of Personal Information collected depends on how You interact with MSSC and its websites as well as the Services You purchase. Types of Personal Information may include:

- Paypal information;

- Information regarding Your employer, school or training program;

- Usage data, such as the features You used, the settings You selected, Your URL click stream data, including date and time stamp and referring and exit pages, and pages You visited on the websites or in the Services; and/or
- The region, city or town where Your device is located in order to provide You with more relevant content for where You are in the world.
Personal Information is collected when You visit any of MSSC’s websites, register on any of MSSC’s websites or for its Services, place an order, subscribe to any mailings or newsletters, and complete any forms contained on MSSC’s websites or when purchasing the Services.
MSSC may also obtain contact details and other information about You from MSSC’s affiliates or other third parties, including:
- Information from Your school or employer from whom You are receiving the Services;
- Service providers that assist MSSC in determining a location in order to customize certain Services to Your location;
- Partners with which MSSC offers co-branded services or engages in joint marketing activities; and/or
- Publically-available sources and data supplies from which MSSC obtains data to validate or supplement the information MSSC holds.
Use of Information Collected
MSSC may collect and may make use of Personal Information to provide the Services You need and request and to personalize Your experience with MSSC to deliver the Services in which You are most interested.
MSSC shares certain Personal Information with its service providers, suppliers, agents and representatives, including but not limited to payment processors, customer support, email service providers, course or certification providers, IT service providers, mailing houses and shipping agents to process the information as necessary to provide the Services, complete any transactions or to fulfill Your request.
MSSC may also use Your Personal Information to assist in the operation of MSSC’s websites, develop new Services and products, provide personalized content, including the creation and implementation of target marketing ads to Your specific location or areas of interest, send periodic emails regarding Your order and MSSC’s Services, measure the performance of MSSC’s Services, improve MSSC’s customer service requests, and communicate with You.
If You access the Services through a subscription administered by Your employer or school, Your Personal Information and certain usage data gathered may be accessed by or shared with the administrators authorized by Your employer or school.
MSSC shares Your Personal Information with its affiliates and other third parties, that wish to send You information about their products and services that may be of interest to You.
MSSC will also disclose Your Personal Information if MSSC has a good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to: (i) meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or other legal obligation; (ii) detect, investigate and help prevent security, fraud or other technical issues; (iii) protect the rights, property or safety of MSSC, its users, employees, agents and others; and/or (iv) as part of a corporation transaction.

To enable MSSC’s systems to recognize Your browser or device and to provide and improve its Services, MSSC uses cookies and other identifiers.
Advertising
MSSC’s Services may include third-party advertising and links to other websites and apps. Third-party advertising partners may collect information about You when You interact with their content, advertising, and services.
MSSC may provide ad companies with information that allows them to serve You with more useful and relevant ads with respect to MSSC and other businesses and to measure their effectiveness. MSSC never shares Your name or other information that directly identifies You when MSSC shares this information. Instead, MSSC use an advertising identifier like a cookie or other device identifier.
Security
MSSC shall endeavor and shall take precautions to maintain adequate physical, procedural and technical security with respect to its offices and information storage facilities so as to prevent any loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure or modification of Your Personal Information under MSSC’s control. MSSC reviews its information collection, storage, and processing practices, including physical security measures, to prevent unauthorized access to MSSC’s systems. MSSC also restricts access to Personal Information to MSSC employees, contractors, course and certification providers, and agents who need that information in order to process it.
Your Communications Preferences
You can customize and manage Your communications preferences and other settings when You register for the Services, by updating Your account features and preferences, by using the “opt-out” or unsubscribe mechanism or other means provided within the communications that You receive, or by contacting MSSC.
If You elect to not provide certain Personal Information or to “opt-out”, You may not be able to take advantage of certain Services.
In addition, to the extent required by applicable law, You may have the right to request access to or delete Your Personal Information
Data Retention
MSSC retains Your Personal Information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfil the transactions You have requested, or for other essential purposes such as complying with MSSC’s legal obligations, maintaining business and financial records, resolving disputes, maintaining security, detecting and preventing fraud and abuse, and enforcing MSSC’s agreements. If You access the Service through a subscription administered or sponsored by Your employer or school, MSSC retains Your employer’s or school’s contact details after the termination of Your employer’s or school’s subscription to continue to communicate with You.
Changes to Privacy Policy Agreement
MSSC reserves the right to update and/or change the terms of this Policy, and as such MSSC will post those changes to its websites so that MSSC’s users and/or visitors are always aware of the type of information MSSC collects, how it will be used, and under what circumstances, if any, MSSC may disclose such information.
Acceptance of Terms
Through the use of MSSC’s websites and/or the Services, You are hereby accepting the terms and conditions stipulated within the aforementioned Policy. If You are not in agreement with these terms and conditions, then You should refrain from further use of MSSC’s websites and its Services. In addition, Your continued use of MSSC’s websites and its Services following the posting of any updates or changes to this Policy shall mean that You are in agreement and acceptance of such changes.
California Consumer Privacy Act
The California Consumer Privacy Act does not apply to MSSC as MSSC is a nonprofit organization.
Children’s Privacy
MSSC does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 or target its Service to children under 13.
